Is there a problem with this router, I installed it correctly (i've done
many 'B''s before) yet have a hard time connecting to most sites, called
Linksys, they said it's either I have a software firewall (XP) and should
disable it, or it needs a firmware upgrade.

Anyone have insite to this?

TIA

Sounds like you should first connect hardwired to it and do some speed
download tests. Also try direct to the cable or DSL modem without the
router. that can help to determine if a) the problem is wireless cause
hardwired thru the router is fine; or b) the problem is the router cause
direct to modem is fine but hardwired thru the router is slow.

Once you have done the above, you should be able to isolate the problem.
